KOEI TECMO has confirmed that The Apothecary Diaries: The False Imperial Brother will officially launch on March 18, 2027. Accompanying the release date announcement is a fresh gameplay trailer showcasing the intricate mystery-solving mechanics, investigative fieldwork, and unique character interactions fans of the franchise have eagerly anticipated.
Developed by the renowned Gust brand in collaboration with TOHO Games, the adventure title places players in the shoes of both Maomao and Jinshi. The narrative adapts an original concept penned by franchise creator Hyuganatsu, centering on the unsettling rumors of the Five Mysteries and a mysterious vigilante claiming to be the imperial younger brother. Players will navigate scene investigations, forage for ingredients, craft complex medicines, and present logical deductions to crack each case.
The latest promotional footage also introduces new cast members, including Yanxi voiced by Yumi Uchiyama, a high-ranking official within the rear palace’s Bureau of Court Etiquette, and Chen Han voiced by Takahiro Miyamoto as an elderly patron of the Verdigris House. Additionally, traveling actor Guanyu, voiced by Yohei Azakami, joins the expanding ensemble.
Alongside standard releases, KOEI TECMO detailed comprehensive pre-order bonuses and special editions for physical collectors. The title is scheduled to arrive on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
