During a Tokyo Game Show livestream, Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio showcased comprehensive opening footage for their upcoming historical action title Stranger Than Heaven (formerly codenamed Project Century). The ten-minute preview highlights the game's opening cinematic credits alongside deep dives into historical locations, combat mechanics, and leisure activities.
Set for release on January 15 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam (as well as Xbox Game Pass), Stranger Than Heaven charts a 50-year historical saga following Makoto Daito, played by Yū Shirota. Born to an American father and a Japanese mother, Makoto flees persecution in 1915 San Francisco to seek out his mother's homeland. The narrative spans several pivotal eras in modern Japanese history, taking players through Kokura in 1915, Kure in 1929, Minami in 1943, Atami in 1951, and RGG Studio's iconic Kamurocho district in 1965 Tokyo.
