Following the conclusion of its debut season, Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF has officially locked in its return timeline. The production team released a second teaser visual for Season 2 alongside confirmation that the sequel will premiere in 2027.

Animated by Studio Passione, the rebooted series revisits Isuna Hasekura's celebrated light novel series while adapting story arcs that were omitted from the original 2008 anime adaptation. Chief director Takeo Takahashi and director Hijiri Sanpei led the creative team for Season 1, delivering a faithful recreation of Kraft Lawrence's economic ventures and his journey alongside Holo the Wisewolf.

Originally published between 2006 and 2019 across 22 light novel volumes, Spice and Wolf remains one of fantasy literature's most respected trade-and-travel stories. After inspiring two previous anime seasons by Imagin, Brain's Base, and Marvy Jack between 2008 and 2009, the current Passione production offers a modern look at Lawrence and Holo's journey through medieval commerce and mythology.
