Sci-fi manga creator Yuhiro Tsujitsugu has shared a major milestone for their acclaimed series Snowball Earth, announcing via X (formerly Twitter) that the manga has officially surpassed 1 million copies in circulation. To commemorate the milestone, Tsujitsugu published a brand-new celebratory illustration for readers.
Alongside the circulation milestone, Tsujitsugu confirmed that the manga is now entering its final arc, signaling the beginning of the end for Tetsuo Yabusame's frozen post-apocalyptic journey. Launched in Shogakukan's Monthly Spirits magazine in 2021, the series has garnered a dedicated following for its bleak, ice-locked vision of Earth following a devastating extra-terrestrial war.
Global Release and Anime Expansion
The franchise has expanded significantly across media formats. Viz Media licenses the series for English-language publication, with the 10th collected volume slated for release in December. Meanwhile, Shogakukan prepares to ship the 12th compiled book volume in Japan.
The property's momentum extends to television as well. An anime adaptation produced by studio projects premiered on NTV's programming block, with streaming availability via Hulu. Following the initial broadcast's reception, production committees have already confirmed that a second season is in active development.
