The long-running athletic rivalry in Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama reaches a critical crossroads with the continuation of its international tournament narrative, Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama U-17 WORLD CUP Kesshou Member Ketteisen (The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup Finals Selection). Following the grueling semifinal bout against Germany, the Japanese national team must resolve internal rivalries to finalize their active roster ahead of the championship confrontation against Spain.
Intra-Squad Selection
Rather than coasting on momentum after overcoming Germany, head coach Nyudo Mifune enacts an internal tournament format across five distinct brackets: Singles 1 through 3 alongside Doubles 1 and 2. Because foundational veterans Byodoin and Oni suffered debilitating injuries in prior matches, underclassmen and high school upperclassmen clash directly for the remaining slots representing Japan.
Key fixtures showcase high-stakes tension between established comrades, including Kazuya Tokugawa opposing Genichiro Sanada in Singles 1, Syusuke Fuji taking on Akaya Kirihara in Singles 2, and the composite duo of Bunta Marui and Eishiro Kite matching up against Shuji Tanegashima and Kuranosuke Shiraishi in Doubles 2.
