Animation studio Bandai Namco Pictures has announced that the brand-new television anime sequence Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou☆) will officially premiere on October 3, 2026. The series will air every Saturday morning at 9:30 AM JST across six TV Tokyo affiliate networks. Alongside the date confirmation, the production team dropped the second full promotional video, highlighting the comedic slice-of-life sci-fi chaos that defined Mine Yoshizaki's long-standing manga franchise.
Cast Additions and Musical Themes
The updated trailer previews the main theme songs written specifically for this fresh iteration. Performing artist ano, who previously served as the official ambassador for the franchise's 20th-anniversary project, provides the opening theme track title "Kirai no chi Suki!". Meanwhile, four-piece rock band PURPLE BUBBLE delivers their major-label debut single "Himitsu no Panorama" as the ending theme, centering on themes of friendship and everyday nostalgia.
Five additional main cast members joining the Keronian squad's human and alien circle were also confirmed:
- Fuyuki Hinata: voiced by Yuki Sakakihara
- Natsumi Hinata: voiced by Minori Fujidera
- Momoka Nishizawa: voiced by Sumire Morohoshi
- Mutsumi Saburo: voiced by Hiiro Ishibashi
- Koyuki Azumaya: voiced by Koko
In addition, the core Keron Platoon features Makoto Koichi as Sergeant Keroro, Rika Nagae as Private Second Class Tamama, Toshiki Masuda as Corporal Giroro, Kohsuke Echigoya as Sergeant Major Kururu, and Keishi Inomata as Lance Corporal Dororo.
Production & Distribution
Directed by Toshihiko Sano alongside chief director Nobuhiro Kondo at Bandai Namco Pictures (with animation assistance from Bridge and Ail), the series relies on series composition by Toshimitsu Takeuchi and character designs by Hatsue Nakayama. Kan Sawada returns to compose the musical score.
Domestic streaming in Japan will launch concurrently on October 3 across platforms such as Hulu, U-NEXT, and Anime Houdai, followed by broader availability on ABEMA, d Anime Store, and Disney+ Star starting October 6. Detailed production updates are available on the official anime site.
