North American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment has expanded its catalog with the acquisition of six brand-new manga and light novel titles scheduled to begin publishing in summer 2027. The slate features a remarkable cross-section of genres, spearheaded by the critically acclaimed Manga Taisho award-winner Alice, All the Way to Outer Space alongside workplace dramas, dark survival thrillers, and fantasy escapades.
Award-Winning Space Dreams
Leading the line is Alice, All the Way to Outer Space by Kiko Urino, which took home the prestigious 18th Manga Taisho Award in 2025. The coming-of-age narrative follows an ambitious girl striving against academic struggles to realize her dream of becoming an astronaut captain. Urino's work makes its physical and digital English debut in July 2027.
Alice is a true space-case! She dreams of floating among the stars as the first Japanese female astronaut captain, but unfortunately, her grades may keep her grounded. But when she meets a lone genius named Inuboshi, he promises he can make her smarter if she studies with him. Can Alice shoot for the moon and stars, or will she be forever Earth-bound?
Workplace Realism & Fantasy Romance
Also arriving in July 2027 is This World Is Worth Fighting For by Hatsumi Kodama. Centered on a 25-year-old corporate worker enduring office toxicity and unfulfilling relationships, the manga depicts a fierce path toward self-reclamation prompted by an anonymous letter.
For boys' love enthusiasts, The Duke is Obsessed with the Vicious Omega—written by Hare Takizawa with art by Kiyo Yoshimi—arrives in August 2027 as a large-trim release under the Seven Seas BL Label. The story blends isekai soul-transmigration tropes with omegaverse noble intrigue, following a former modern accountant reincarnated as a sharp-tongued aristocrat.
Survival, Romance & Feline Dungeon Crawls
Rounding out the print lineup for August 2027 are Mouse Royale by Junichiro Sasaki and Ushiyama-san by Haruyoshi Aizawa. While Mouse Royale pits an innocent cohort of rodent schoolmates into a ruthless 28-day death match where only five may leave alive, Ushiyama-san opts for lighthearted high school romance between a diminutive bat-boy and the school's towering star athlete.
On the light novel front, Seven Seas' Airship imprint will issue the digital premiere of My House Cat Became the World’s Strongest?! by author Tamaki Yoshigae and illustrator LINO in June 2027. The comedy chronicles an overworked office employee whose pet cat expands into an unstoppable, dungeon-crushing steed, kicking off a viral streaming sensation.
