The November issue of Akita Publishing's Champion RED magazine has confirmed that author Kenji Saitō and artist Nobuyuki Ueda's Saint Seiya: Dark Wing (Saint Seiya: Meiōiden – Dark Wing) spinoff manga will officially conclude in the magazine's January 2027 issue on November 19. The final chapter arrival will also mark the conclusion of Yousuke Takahashi and Mimori's Garagarapon series in the same publication batch.
Underworld Chronicles
Published in English by Titan, Saint Seiya: Dark Wing reinterprets Masami Kurumada's legendary fantasy universe through an underworld-focused lens. The narrative follows ordinary high school student Shōichirō, who finds his destiny completely rewritten after a fateful school trip accident thrusts him into the realm of the dead. Reborn as Wyvern—one of Hades' feared Judges of the Underworld—he is drawn into an eternal conflict against the forces of Athena, while uncovering darker conspiracies underpinning the divine war.
Shōichirō was just another high school student. Now, he's Wyvern, one of the dreaded Judges of the Underworld, chosen to battle against the forces of Athena in a war that transcends life and death.
Since launching in Monthly Champion RED in December 2020, the dark fantasy spinoff has carved out a dedicated following among longtime adherents of Kurumada's franchise, which first established its foundational shonen mythos between 1986 and 1990.
