Episode 1, officially titled “The Thing Floating in the Sky Was an Island,” follows protagonist Fran and her sentient blade companion Teacher as they journey toward the bustling port town of Dars. Along the way, their travels are interrupted by a mysterious floating landmass. Following an unexpected ambush by a skeletal knight, the duo crash-lands onto the strange territory, setting the stage for an encounter with a necromancer named Jean. Voice actors Shinichiro Miki and Ai Kakuma return to their iconic roles, narrating the newly released preview trailer.
