The eagerly anticipated television adaptation of Chie Shinohara's beloved adventure fantasy manga Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori, widely known as Red River, has expanded its voice cast with two major additions. The official website confirmed that voice actors Souma Saitou and Shun Horie are joining the ensemble as User Ramses and Juda Haspaslupi, respectively.
This casting update arrives just as the series prepares to transition into its second cour, slated to premiere on September 29 during NTV's late-night AnichU programming block, with subsequent broadcasts on BS-NTV. Under the direction of Kousuke Kobayashi at Tatsunoko Production, the anime brings back the sweeping historical fantasy scope that made Shinohara's original Sho-Comi serialization a monumental commercial success between 1995 and 2002.
The production features series composition by Yoriko Tomita, character designs by Kenji Fujisaki, and a sweeping orchestral score composed by Yoshihisa Hirano. With a cumulative 20 million copies in circulation and a complete English release by VIZ Media, the adaptation continues to bridge decades of storytelling heritage for modern audiences.
