The chaotic martial arts romantic comedy Ranma 1/2 is officially returning for its third season. Following the ongoing success of the modern adaptation produced by MAPPA, the production committee has confirmed that the upcoming season will premiere on October 3, 2026, airing Saturdays at 24:55 on Nippon TV before streaming globally and exclusively on Netflix right after broadcast.
Alongside the premiere date confirmation, the official channels dropped a dynamic third promotional video. The new PV highlights the complicated romantic triangles between Ranma Saotome, Akane Tendo, and Ryoga Hibiki, while also offering the first animated glimpses of fresh characters entering the fray. Fans got their first preview of the upcoming opening theme, "Sunao Miman" performed by singer-songwriter Fumi, and the ending theme, "Kawaikunai" by Yuika.
MAPPA's Production & Special Events
To celebrate the launch of the third season, the anime's official X (formerly Twitter) account is hosting a live X Space watch party during the broadcast of Episode 25. Iconic voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi (Ranma Saotome) and Megumi Hayashibara (female Ranma) will join fans in real-time, providing live commentary alongside the television airing.
Based on the legendary manga by Rumiko Takahashi—whose catalog has surpassed 230 million copies worldwide—the series continues under the direction of Konosuke Uda at studio MAPPA. With series composition handled by Kimiko Ueno and character designs by Hiromi Taniguchi, the creative team aims to maintain the high-energy animation standard that defined the previous runs.
