During the latest Nintendo Direct stream, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company offered a fresh look at the upcoming second wave of the paid Expansion Pass for Pokémon Pokopia. The cozy life-simulation crafting title, developed by Koei Tecmo for the Nintendo Switch 2, continues to expand its island horizons following its massive commercial launch earlier this spring.
The Part 2 update brings a variety of new cosmetic accessories to customize player avatars, including chic sunglasses, a Sylveon ribbon, and a classic bow tie. Alongside these cosmetic flourishes, popular species such as Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen will join the lineup of obtainable Pokémon when the content drops later this year.
Expanding the Cozy Frontier
Since its launch on March 5, Pokémon Pokopia has become a major success for the franchise, surpassing five million units sold globally within its first four months. The title blends creature-collecting with deep crafting and town-building mechanics, introducing unique regional variations like Professor Tangrowth and Peakychu.
This second wave follows the August debut of Part 1's Bubbly Basin DLC, which introduced underwater exploration alongside a free update that granted the Dive ability. A third expansion town is currently slated for release in 2027, ensuring long-term support for players building their ideal pocket-monster sanctuaries.
