Celebrating World Space Week, The Pokémon Company and the European Space Agency have officially initiated their expansive collaborative gameplay event within Pokémon GO. Running from October 4 through October 10 at participating European museums and ESA establishments, trainers can partake in specialized field research and unique wild encounter rotations.
Spinning PokéStops at designated museum hubs triggers themed Field Research tasks rewarding encounter opportunities featuring special background variants. Meanwhile, the Wild Encounter event elevates spawn rates for celestial and cosmic-themed creatures across collaborating venues. Trainers wandering near participating facilities can encounter species such as Pikachu, Blipbug, Clefairy, Elgyem, Lunatone, Magnemite, Solrock, and Starmie.
The partnership spans multiple prominent European scientific institutions, including headquarters across Paris, Madrid, Brussels, and London. Furthermore, the collaboration extends beyond the initial October window through extended Raid gameplay running until April 30, 2027. Successful completion of these raids grants players a chance to capture Astronaut Pikachu, celebrating the plush mascot's remarkable 67-day voyage aboard the International Space Station alongside French astronaut Sophie Adenot.
Established by the United Nations in 1999, World Space Week commemorates key milestones in space exploration history, adopting the theme "Rocket Revolution" for the current year to highlight breakthrough propulsion technologies.
