Franchise Origins and Production Legacy
Originating as a webcomic created by ONE in 2009, One-Punch Man evolved into a cultural phenomenon following its digital manga remake illustrated by Yusuke Murata in 2012, serialized via Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump. The animated adaptation famously began with an iconic first season produced by studio MADHOUSE in 2015, before J.C. Staff took over production duties for the second season in 2019.
The narrative centers on Saitama, an unassuming hero who achieved absolute invulnerability through an absurdly simple workout regimen, allowing him to defeat any adversary with a single blow. As the storyline progresses into its third season, the focus shifts heavily toward his encounters with the Hero Association and the relentless threat posed by Garo, promising high-octane action when Cour 2 arrives in early 2027.
