Renowned illustrator Yusuke Murata is famous across the manga industry for his uncanny grasp of anatomical dynamics, kinetic shading, and hyper-detailed muscularity. With the release of One-Punch Man Chapter 283 on Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump platform, Murata revealed a unique family collaboration behind his latest artwork: his real-life model for the issue's cover illustration was none other than his son, competitive bodybuilder Keisuke Murata.
Following the release of the chapter, Keisuke shared a comparison post on his official X account featuring himself holding the precise pose rendered in his father's artwork. Confirming his role in the process, Keisuke noted that he acted as both the physical model and anatomical reference material for the new story arc's promotional cover visual.
A Legacy of Artistic Skill
This is not the first time the younger Murata has made headlines. Keisuke achieved national recognition in 2024 when he took second place in the 170 cm and under category at Japan’s National High School Boys Bodybuilding Championship. At the time, Yusuke Murata openly celebrated his son's competitive achievements, while Keisuke expressed his determination to continue perfecting his physique for future competitions.
Artistic flair appears to run deep within the Murata household. The One-Punch Man artist has occasionally showcased his children's creativity on social media over the years, including early sketches by Keisuke when he was seven years old, as well as illustrations drawn by his younger daughter inspired by Toilet-bound Hanako-kun.
Written by original creator ONE and brought to life through Murata’s celebrated artwork, One-Punch Man continues its digital serialization on Tonari no Young Jump. Meanwhile, work remains underway on the second part of the anime adaptation's third season.
