Manga artist Natsumi Hirota has officially launched her newest series, Sore wa Ai Janai Deshou (That's Not Love, Is It?), in issue Vol.187 of Hakusensha's digital magazine Love Jossie. The debut features a two-chapter opening, offering a realistic look into emotional burden, domestic adversity, and young responsibility.
The story follows Shizuka, a fifth-grade student facing a heavy home life. Living with her single mother—who remains trapped in an abusive relationship—Shizuka takes on the daily responsibility of caring for her bedridden younger brother. While Shizuka perceives this routine as normal, the narrative examines the complex reality of her upbringing and her evolving understanding of affection.
Double Serialization
In addition to launching this new work, Hirota maintains her concurrent series Watashi wa Atama ga Warui kedo ~Kyaba-jo, Sokei Kokuritsu wo Aiming!?~ in Hakusensha's Love Silky digital magazine. Digital volumes 1 and 2 received an early release alongside the new serialization, with a wide digital store launch planned for October 21.
