The creative duo behind the gothic fantasy classic 07-Ghost have officially brought another journey to a close. The December issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine published the final chapter of Yuki Amemiya and Yukino Ichihara's My Husband is a Doomsday Weapon (Danna-sama wa Shūmatsu Heiki). The series concludes its run in the pages of the publication, leaving behind a distinct footprint in the realm of speculative romance.
Kodansha USA Publishing licensed the manga ahead of its completion, with plans to release the first volume in English. The publisher outlines the narrative premise as a unique collision of genres:
Four hundred years have passed since the Doomsday War, when autonomous killing machines known as weapon-auts turned on their creators and reduced the world to ruins. Amidst the rusted wreckage, a sheltered researcher named Yoshua awakens from an excavation accident to find herself staring directly into the optical sensors of a battleship-grade weapon of mass destruction.

A Legacy of Distinctive Storytelling
Amemiya and Ichihara originally launched My Husband is a Doomsday Weapon in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum. Amemiya handles the scenario writing duties while Ichihara brings the intricate character designs and mechanical layouts to life through illustration. The partnership is widely recognized for their long-running breakout hit 07-Ghost, which serialized from 2005 to 2013, inspired a 2009 television anime adaptation, and established their penchant for atmospheric world-building.
Following the conclusion of 07-Ghost, the duo created Battle Rabbits before moving on to other speculative works like Long Goodbye My Honey. With My Husband is a Doomsday Weapon now completed in Japan and international readers preparing to experience the hard sci-fi romance through Kodansha USA's upcoming releases, Amemiya and Ichihara's collaborative portfolio continues to expand into fresh thematic territories.
