Creator Yūki Kanamaru took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm that the popular romantic comedy manga More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers will officially step out of its hiatus. The series is set to resume serialization in the December issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine, which hits newsstands in November.
The manga originally entered a temporary hiatus back in March 2025. According to the author, the break was necessary to ensure a healthy production pace while mapping out the narrative climax of the story. Concurrently, the series is entering its definitive final stretch with the release of its 14th compiled book volume, bringing the high school romance to its emotional conclusion.
From Serialized Roots to Anime Adaptation
Launched in the pages of Young Ace in 2018, Kanamaru's creation quickly carved out a dedicated following with its unique take on the classic high school rom-com formula. The premise centers on the awkward high schooler Jiro Yakuin and the gyaru-style trendsetter Akari Watanabe, who are forced into a mandatory practical curriculum simulating married life.
