The acclaimed figure skating franchise Medalist is stepping back onto the real-world ice. Ahead of its theatrical debut, the upcoming anime film has officially announced a collaborative partnership with the upcoming Grand Prix Series and Final 2026, marking the third time the manga and the international sporting event have joined forces.
New Collaborations and Visuals
To celebrate the upcoming theatrical release, a striking special collaboration visual has been revealed, featuring the series' main protagonists standing shoulder-to-shoulder with real-world figure skating competitors set to take part in the 2026 tournament. Alongside this crossover art, the production team has rolled out fresh character illustrations and cast details for key newcomers entering the cinematic narrative.
Expanded Cast Additions
The cinematic adaptation introduces three distinct figures who shape the competitive landscape of the All-Japan Novice Championships:
- Miku Ahiru (voiced by Hina Yomiya) is a first-year middle school skater representing Tonancho Lake FSC. Facing the closure of her home rink, she aims for a top finish in what will likely be her final competitive season.
- Kouhei Kamogawa (voiced by Shoya Ishige) serves as the head coach of Tonancho Lake FSC. As a former ice dancer and Tsukasa's former clubmate, his bond with Miku extends far beyond a traditional coaching relationship.
- Juna Shidori (voiced by Yuki Ono) rounds out 'Team Ahiru' as Miku's choreographer, while maintaining a dual life in the entertainment industry under the stage name 'Juna Shidori'.
Animated by studio ENGI and directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto, the Medalist movie is scheduled to hit theaters across Japan on February 19, 2027, bringing the intense emotional drama of Tsurumaikada's award-winning manga to the big screen.
