An ambitious new sci-fi project is heading to digital platforms this autumn. The upcoming original short web anime Mecha Samurai has officially pulled back the curtain on its production, revealing a striking key visual, an action-packed teaser trailer, and the principal voice cast. Produced by Plott, the series blends traditional samurai aesthetics with futuristic mecha warfare.
The creative foundation of the series boasts major talent, featuring original character designs by Hiroyuki Takei, best known globally as the acclaimed creator of Shaman King. Takei’s signature sharp line work and distinctive character flair translate directly into the gritty, armored aesthetic of the project.
Complementing the visual identity is a talented principal voice cast. Kentaro Mashiro takes on the role of Chiaki Kuzumi, joined by Riona Yamashita as Sana Fujimiya, and Ayumu Mizukami voicing both Kiyoharu Obana and Kaoru Rindo.
Audiences will not have to wait long to experience the project. Mecha Samurai launches as a series of bite-sized shorts across the anime's official YouTube, X/Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok accounts on November 2, 2026. A pre-season special episode follows on YouTube on November 20, 2026, leading up to the full series streaming rollout in Spring 2027.
