To celebrate ten years since the original release of his blockbuster masterpiece Your Name. (Kimi no Na wa.), acclaimed auteur Makoto Shinkai has unveiled an early concept illustration created during the film's pre-production phase. Drafted around the autumn of 2015 while brainstorming ideas for the project's teaser visual, the piece captures the quintessential melancholic atmosphere that eventually defined the theatrical phenomenon.
Reflecting on the milestone, Shinkai expressed deep gratitude to audiences worldwide whose ongoing connection to the film has sustained its legacy. While noting that no formal 10th-anniversary events are scheduled, the director provided an encouraging update regarding his upcoming work, reassuring fans that his team remains deeply immersed in shaping his next feature film following Weathering with You and Suzume.
