Fans of the supernatural academy hit can officially mark their calendars. The upcoming spin-off series Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun: IruMafia Edition (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun if Episode of Mafia) has locked in a January 4 broadcast start date. Alongside the premiere window, production committee members revealed a dynamic new main visual highlighting the alternate underworld crime syndicates.
Based on the manga written by Osamu Nishi and illustrated by Hiroja, the adaptation reimagines the titular kindhearted human as a dirt-poor slum resident plucked from obscurity by Don Sullivan, leader of the Babel Mafia. Tatsunoko Pro handles the animation production, bringing a sharper, underworld-heavy aesthetic to the franchise. Keiichiro Kawaguchi sits in the director's chair, while series composition veteran Kazuyuki Fudeyasu returns to steer the narrative.
The voice cast features returning fan favorites reprising their roles in this gritty spin-off context. Ayumu Murase returns as Iruma, accompanied by Mitsuki Saiga as Opera, Daisuke Ono as Kalego Naberius, Ryōhei Kimura as Alice Asmodeus, Ayaka Asai as Clara Valac, and Saori Hayami as Ameri.
Originally launching in Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shonen Champion before migrating to Weekly Shonen Champion, the source manga has accumulated 10 collected volumes. With the main series currently airing its fourth season alongside a newly announced anime film, the IruMafia Edition adds fresh momentum to the expansive demonic universe.
