Entitled «The Fire Rat's Robe», this installment marks another compelling step forward in the highly anticipated third season, bringing viewers back into the intricate web of historical intrigue and keen-eyed deduction crafted by author Natsu Hyuuga and publisher Imagica Infos under the Hero Bunko imprint.
Following the massive global success of the previous broadcast blocks, which amassed over 57 million copies in circulation worldwide, Season 3 expands its narrative horizons far beyond the imperial palace walls. As brewing disasters and mysterious figures threaten the kingdom, protagonist Maomao and the influential Loulan-bound imperial court manager Jinshi find themselves thrust into demanding new environments among the common folk.

In the upcoming episode «The Fire Rat's Robe», Maomao heads down to the bustling main thoroughfare market to procure children's padded winter clothing for Zhao Yu. While inspecting secondhand garments at a local shop, Zhao Yu's attention is suddenly drawn to a stark white robe hanging against the shop wall, adorned with delicate vine-like embroidery along the sleeves.
The shopkeeper recognizes the item and identifies it as the legendary «Fire Rat's Robe,» setting the stage for a haunting local tale surrounding a beautiful celestial maiden who vanished into a lake. Animation studio OLM continues to handle production under the direction of Akinori Fudesaka, maintaining the exquisite visual fidelity that fans have come to expect from the franchise.
