The supernatural comedy landscape has taken a bizarre and paranormal turn as OceanVeil officially launches the English dub for KAMUI: He's Behind You (Ushiro no Shōmen Kamui-san). Based on the manga by author Eroki and artist Shinko Konoshiro, the anime adaptation brings its unique brand of ghost-attracting chaos and unconventional exorcisms to international audiences following its July television premiere in Japan on Tokyo MX and BS11.
The newly unveiled English voice cast features Diana Garnet starring as Shizuka Mimizuka alongside Jesse Inocalla as the titular psychic Kamui. They are joined by Nina Nikolic as Oichi, Mia Paige as Inagawa, Sneha Kumar as Kyōko, Aife as the Narrator, Roo Ryder, Aria Pierce as Teke-Teke, Mana T. Johnson as Miss Mary, Amanda Parker as the Slit-Mouthed Woman, Dré Ayala, Meredith Nudo as Kokkuri, Jessica Warner, Erin Tenelle, Zoe Lee, Shay-Ki Fullalove, and Angela Tran.
Behind the scenes, the English localization is helmed by ADR Director Kevin Frane and Assistant ADR Director Zack Maher. Executive Producer Jonathan Hinga oversees the project, with script adaptation by Laura K. Welsh, time coding by Jasper Bear, and mix engineering handled by Steve Warky Nunez. Production assistance is provided by Amanda Parker, while talent sourcing is credited to No Studio In Particular under Reece Bridger.
The original series is directed by Takumi Tsukumo at animation studios Zero-G and ZG-R, with series scripts penned by Motoshi Chūjō and character designs by Toshinari Yamashita. Music features the ending theme song "SAY-BYE!!" performed by KOTOKO, under the production of WWWave Corporation's Deregula anime label. The underlying manga originally debuted in March 2020 on Shogakukan's Manga ONE app.
