The funk-soul outfit Kroi has claimed the top position on Billboard JAPAN's Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan chart with SPIN, the high-energy opening theme for the highly anticipated Steel Ball Run anime adaptation. Based on the data covering late September through early October, the track experienced an astronomical 568% surge in streaming numbers, pulling in over 3.2 million streams globally within a single dedicated tracking week.
Crafted to mirror the vast, sun-baked expanses of Hirohiko Araki’s legendary North American cross-country race narrative, the track merges spaghetti-western guitar echoes reminiscent of Ennio Morricone with modern funk, soul, and hip-hop cadences. The international reception has been staggering, with the single securing peak position across regional digital charts in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Brazil.
