Spanish convention Japan Weekend has unveiled the full roster of Japanese creators, musicians, and voice talent set to appear at its Madrid edition on September 26 and 27. Marking a venue upgrade to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium, the event gathers an eclectic mix of legendary anime staff, veteran voice actors, and prominent game composers.
Cast & Musical Guests
Headlining the voice acting roster is Katsuyuki Konishi, celebrated for his commanding performances as Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Kamina in Gurren Lagann, and Diavolo in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, alongside his recent casting as Tougo Shiba in the animated adaptation of KAGURABACHI. Joining him is singer and voice actress Machico, recognized as Tokai Teio in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby and renowned for performing theme songs across the KonoSuba and Pretty Cure franchises.
The musical program features idol unit representation from Liella!, with voice actresses Sayuri Date, Nako Misaki, and Nagisa Aoyama appearing on behalf of Love Live! Superstar!!. Veteran vocalist May’n, iconic for her performance as the singing voice of Sheryl Nome in Macross Frontier, will also perform alongside British indie rock band bôa, famous worldwide for the cult opening theme “Duvet” from Serial Experiments Lain.

The convention is hosting a rare reunion of key creative minds behind late-90s psychological anime milestones:
- Chiaki J. Konaka: Screenwriter of Serial Experiments Lain, Digimon Tamers, Texhnolyze, and The Big O.
- Yoshitoshi ABe: Acclaimed illustrator and character designer for Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane Renmei, and Texhnolyze.
- Shoji Meguro: Renowned composer behind the sonic identity of ATLUS classics including Persona 3, Persona 4, Persona 5, and Metaphor: ReFantazio.
- Usamaru Furuya: Acclaimed manga artist behind cult masterworks like Lychee Light Club, Palepoli, and The Music of Marie.
- nyalra: Writer and creator of the breakout psychological visual novel NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE.
