Kadokawa has expanded the roster for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Ayune Araragi's romantic comedy manga, Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love. The latest production update introduces four additional voice actors joining the main cast alongside a brand-new key visual showcasing the series' distinctive aesthetic.
The newly confirmed cast additions feature Haruki Ishiya as Danjuro Iwata, Takuma Nagatsuka as Masato Nakatani, Hiiro Ishibashi as Chikai Matsumoto, and Yū Wakui as Rena Yamakawa. They join previously announced leads Riko Akechi as the elite young officer Isshiki Rinna Milford and Shūichirō Umeda as the scatterbrained detective Meishi Rokutanda.
Production Pedigree and Staff
Behind the camera, Kazuya Komai directs the series at studio Sakura Create. Series composition is helmed by veteran writer Deko Akao, renowned for her work on Komi Can't Communicate and Noragami, while Shōhei Hamaguchi handles character designs. The musical landscape of the anime is composed by MICHIRU, promising a charming atmosphere to match the source material's comedic romance.
The narrative follows Isshiki Rinna Milford, an elite officer who joined the police force at age 17 without any prior experience in romance, paired alongside Meishi Rokutanda, a kind yet incompetent investigator. As professional novices navigating the intricacies of emotional attachment, the pair stumble into an unconventional partnership exploring the terrain of young love.
Ayune Araragi originally launched the manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in June 2020. English-language readers can look forward to the official print release via Yen Press, which brings the first volume to shelves under the revised title Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love.
