Manga creator Sankaku Head announced during a recent livestream on Niconico that he is officially reviving his most iconic franchise. Titled Umaru-chan 100, the brand-new series is scheduled to debut on Shueisha's Young Jump+ digital platform on October 1. The announcement marks an exciting return for fans of the quintessential sibling comedy.
The original Himouto! Umaruchan manga first debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine back in 2013, following a brief two-chapter pilot run in Miracle Jump. Over the years, the series spawned multiple spinoffs including Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan and Himōto! Umaru-chan G, before concluding its serialization run. Its immense popularity also translated into a 12-episode television anime adaptation by Doga Kobo in 2015, followed by a second season titled Himouto! Umaru-chan R in 2017.
This new project arrives after Sankaku Head shifted away from weekly serializations in early 2026, citing health considerations and a desire to spend more time with his family. The transition to a monthly or digital platform release schedule allows the veteran author to continue his creative output sustainably while delivering another humorous chapter in the beloved character's dual life of a pristine student and a lazy gamer.
