The premier YouTube music channel THE FIRST TAKE has announced its 714th performance session, featuring the rock band Wasureraneyo in their inaugural appearance. The band will perform their 2022 single 'I Love Iu', a track that gained immense traction following its appearance in the ninth-sixth chapter of Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ digital manga 'Futsu no Keionbu' during the joint live arc, subsequently inspiring a commemorative promotional video celebrating the release of the eleventh collected volume.
Frontman Takahiro Shibata shared his enthusiasm regarding the milestone, noting that reaching the iconic white studio stage was a long-held aspiration. The performance showcases a full band arrangement with supporting musicians, capturing a raw, single-take rendition of the emotive composition.
Anime Tie-Ins and Musical Pedigree
Formed in 2008, Wasureraneyo has built a distinct legacy in Japanese alternative rock, notably scoring the ending theme 'C Kara Hajimaru ABC' for the television anime adaptation of 'Kaiji' in 2011. The band's association with anime culture expanded further when they provided the opening theme 'Nanmonee' for the anime adaptation of 'Yani Neko', with the official music video surpassing ten million streams on YouTube.
Since launching in November 2019, THE FIRST TAKE has established itself as a premier destination for musicians to record raw, uninterrupted performances. With a subscriber base exceeding twelve million, the channel has previously hosted monumental anime music acts behind global hits from franchises such as 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba', 'Oshi no Ko', and 'Mashle: Magic and Muscles'.
