Dreams has officially announced that its popular slouch-correcting plush toy line Funbaruzu is transitioning from desk accessories to television screens. The upcoming adaptation is scheduled to premiere in October 2026 across TOKYO MX and BS Yoshimoto, bringing the whimsical, posture-conscious animal characters to life through a unique visual pipeline.
The project employs an innovative 2D×AI hybrid animation production method handled by studio M.I.. Character designs, storyboards, and key animation are crafted traditionally in 2D before leveraging advanced 3D CG and digital AI workflows to generate dynamic sequences that visualize the daydreams of Nossory the sloth and his companions.
Production Pedigree and Cast
Directing the series is Kazumi Nonaka, known for extensive work on children's animation and series storyboards, while scripts are penned by Takeshi Takemura. The voice cast features prominent industry talent, including Wataru Komada as Nossory, Kotaro Nishiyama as Montan the monkey, and Sayuri Hara as Hop the rabbit, alongside comedy duo Yoneda2000 participating in both cast and musical components.
