The romantic comedy landscape is preparing for a fresh addition as Crunchyroll dropped a brand-new teaser trailer for the upcoming television adaptation of Kashiko Amane’s Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret (Hōkago no Idol ni wa Himitsu ga Aru). Alongside the fresh footage, the production committee lifted the curtain on the main voice cast, key staff, and a targeted release window.
Scheduled to premiere in April 2027, the series will be produced at studio Gekkō. Crunchyroll has already confirmed that it will stream the anime globally as it airs in Japan, ensuring international fans can follow the romantic complications without delay.
Production & Creative Pedigree
Director Hikaru Sato, known for handling comedic timing and character dynamics in The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You and Dropkick on My Devil!, is steering the project. Guiding the narrative framework is veteran scriptwriter Fumihiko Shimo, whose extensive resume includes Full Metal Panic! and BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.
Character designs are being brought to life by Kibidango 14-gō, while the atmospheric musical background will be composed by Satoru Kōsaki and monaca, drawing on their iconic experience from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and the Monogatari series.
