Creator Ryōsuke Asakura has expanded his catalog with a fresh narrative project, launching a brand-new manga series titled Evangeline Puts on Shoes (Evangeline wa Kutsu o Haku) on Shueisha's digital platform Shonen Jump+.
A Story Beneath the Surface
The narrative centers on Evangeline, a popular high school student and working actress whose public life is defined by effortless beauty and charm. While admirers only see the glamour of her spotlight, a plain aspiring shoemaker named Kotarō notices a different reality entirely—the hidden physical and emotional pain carried in every step she takes.
Creator's Track Record
Asakura is well-known within the industry for a diverse range of previous works across multiple major publications. Most recently, he completed The Last 9 Days of Anastasia in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan. His portfolio also includes I Want to Be Exposed by the Shikizaki Sisters in Weekly Young Jump, as well as the long-running romantic comedy and fantasy series Val x Love, which inspired a 2019 television anime adaptation licensed by Sentai Filmworks.
