The upcoming Eat-Man: The Over Order TV anime series has dropped its second major teaser visual, offering fans a fresh look at the enigmatic protagonist Bolt Crank. Crunchyroll premiered the artwork during its showcase panel at New York Comic Con 2026, confirming that the streaming platform will broadcast the series worldwide upon its release.
Behind the adaptation, Shunji Oga is stepping into the director's chair at Studio Cab. Character designs are being managed by Satoshi Hirayama, while original manga creator Akihito Yoshitomi takes charge of the series scripts. Notably, Masashi Ebara returns to the role of Bolt Crank, reprising the character he famously voiced in the late-90s anime iterations.
Franchise Origins and Legacy
Akihito Yoshitomi’s original sci-fi adventure manga was serialized in MediaWorks’ Dengeki Comic Gao! from 1996 to 2003, spanning 19 tankōbon volumes. A follow-up series, Eat-Man: The Main Dish, ran in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius from 2014 to 2019. The property previously received two television anime adaptations by Studio Deen in 1997 and 1998, which explored Bolt Crank's bizarre ability to consume any inorganic object and recreate it fully functional.
While an official broadcast date has not yet been locked in by the production committee, the steady trickle of promotional material indicates that Bolt Crank's return to television is steadily materializing.
