The classic cyberpunk fantasy manga Eat-Man by Akihito Yoshitomi is officially receiving a brand-new television anime adaptation. Titled Eat-Man: The Over Order, the upcoming project was revealed alongside a super teaser trailer and visual, marking a major return for one of the late 1990s' most iconic antihero sagas.
Production Staff and Cast Details
The new television series is being animated at Studio Cab under the direction of Shunji Oga (Hikawa Maru Monogatari, Amon Saga). Significantly, original creator Akihito Yoshitomi is personally handling the scriptwriting for the adaptation, ensuring a close alignment with the original manga's distinct tone. Satoshi Hirayama (Asateer 2: Mirai no Mukashibanashi) serves as the character designer.
Veteran voice actor Masashi Ebara returns to voice the enigmatic protagonist Bolt Crank, a legendary mercenary known throughout a surreal wasteland as an "explorer." Bolt possesses the supernatural ability to digest virtually any physical material or weapon and later reconstruct it fully functional directly from his body.

Franchise Origins and History
Yoshitomi's original Eat-Man manga ran in MediaWorks' Monthly Dengeki Comic Gao! from 1996 to 2003. Decades later, Yoshitomi expanded the story with a sequel manga titled Eat-Man: The Main Dish, which serialized from 2014 until its conclusion in 2019 across six collected volumes.
The franchise was previously adapted into two 12-episode anime series by Studio Deen in the late 1990s. The initial 1997 television series was directed by Koichi Mashimo (Noir, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom), followed by the 1998 soft reboot Eat-Man '98 directed by Toshifumi Kawase (Yakuza Fiancé).
In a mysterious world of advanced technology and weird science, Bolt Crank is an explorer who only accepts jobs that fit his moral standards. Possessed of a unique power, he is able to eat anything at all and later reproduce it wholly intact and functional.
