During the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026 event, Kadokawa officially confirmed that Takuma Sakai's school mystery light novel series Delta to Gamma no Rigakubu Note (Delta and Gamma's Department of Science Notebook) is officially making the jump to television animation. To celebrate the broadcast announcement, publisher executives released an introductory announcement promo alongside a commemorative illustration crafted by the franchise illustrator Asagi Tousaka.
Franchise Origins and Success
Author Takuma Sakai initially launched the light novel under the prominent Dengeki Bunko imprint in November 2024, pairing intricate academic mysteries with the visual talents of Asagi Tousaka. The property rapidly cultivated a passionate readership, securing notable prestige by ranking third in the new work paperback category and sixth overall in the highly regarded Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2026 guidebook rankings. Kadokawa continued expanding the narrative footprint with the release of the third volume, titled Totteoki no Ronri o, Kimi to. -Delta to Gamma no Rigakubu Note 3-.
In addition to the upcoming television anime project, the expanding media mix includes a manga adaptation. Illustrated by Lap Tsutsumi and titled Yotte, Hatsukoi wa Shoumei sareta. Delta to Gamma no Rigakubu Note, the comic serial debuted in Comic Dengeki Daioh "g" magazine, with Kadokawa slated to compile the inaugural physical tankobon volume.
