Crunchyroll has officially expanded the reach of its dedicated reading platform, announcing that the Crunchyroll Manga app is now available across the United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, and New Zealand. This milestone broadens access to digital manga reading for global fans following its initial autumn rollout in North America.
Alongside the manga app rollout, the streaming giant revealed plans for a dedicated anime hub on the PlayStation 5 console, slated to launch next spring. This centralized digital space on Sony's hardware aims to aggregate anime content while also featuring a selection of anime-themed and anime-inspired video games, bridging the gap between streaming and interactive media on the platform.
In related platform updates, Crunchyroll confirmed that its standalone Nintendo Switch streaming application will be discontinued. Despite the removal from Nintendo's hybrid console, the service remains widely accessible across other gaming systems such as Xbox and PlayStation, as well as mobile operating systems, connected living room devices, and standard web browsers.
