The film is based on the manga's popular "Siren Arc" or "Island Arc." Nagano is credited for the original story and script, with Kei Oikawa directing at Cygames Pictures.
Meanwhile, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Kikikaikai! Ora no Yōkai Bake-shon dropped from #3 to #6 in its second weekend, earning a cumulative total of 1.17 billion yen. The 33rd 2D anime film in the Crayon Shin-chan franchise centers on the land of yōkai and features direction by Masaki Watanabe.
In live-action cinema, Kingdom: Tamashii no Kessen (Decisive Battle of the Soul), the fifth film based on Yasuhisa Hara's Kingdom manga, dropped to #7 in its fourth weekend, grossing a cumulative 4.92 billion yen. Additionally, the live-action adaptation of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura's BLUE LOCK soccer manga debuted at #8 in its opening weekend, pulling in 277.6 million yen in its first three days.
