The production team behind the widely popular children's mystery franchise Butt Detective (Oshiri Tantei) has officially confirmed that the television anime will return with a fresh batch of seven weekly episodes. The broadcast is scheduled to kick off on October 3, continuing the series' long-running presence on Japanese television.
This upcoming broadcast follows closely on the heels of the previous batch of weekly episodes, which debuted earlier this year in April. Since its initial television premiere of three special episodes on NHK Educational back in May 2018, the property has expanded into a regular weekly broadcasting staple. Alongside its ongoing television run, the franchise has continually engaged its audience with theatrical features, including the third anime film Eiga Oshiri Tantei: Star and Moon which opened across theaters in Japan in March 2025.
