The live-action BLUE LOCK feature film has officially crossed the monumental 1 billion yen threshold at the Japanese box office. To commemorate this major commercial and cultural milestone, the Weekly Shonen Magazine editorial department has launched a wide-reaching promotional rollout highlighting some of the industry's finest talent.

Beginning September 2, the official BLUE LOCK manga X account initiated a massive rollout of tribute illustrations originally compiled in a theatergoer booklet for the 2024 anime film BLUE LOCK the Movie -EPISODE NAGI-. This gallery of guest artwork features contributions from industry heavyweights, including Hajime Isayama (Attack on Titan), Hiro Mashima (FAIRY TAIL), and Tsubasa Yamaguchi (Blue Period), uniting rival creators in celebration of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura's football phenomenon.

Theatrical Triumph

Directed by Yusuke Taki with a screenplay by Tetsuo Kamata and production by Credeus, the live-action adaptation opened in Japanese theaters on August 7 through distributor Toho. Pulling in 188,212 admissions and earning ¥277,648,800 in its opening weekend alone, the film proved that the high-intensity egoist battles of Yoichi Isagi and his rivals translate seamlessly to live-action cinema.

The cinematic project arrives alongside heavy momentum for the wider franchise, which includes confirmation of Season 3 of the television anime produced by 8bit. With Fumiya Takahashi leading the cast as Isagi alongside a sprawling ensemble featuring Mei Hata as Anri Teieri and Masataka Kubota as Jinpachi Ego, Toho's adaptation continues to expand the cultural footprint of the egoist training program.
