Vocal powerhouse AKINO has officially announced her departure from the musical sibling group Bless4 after an incredible 24-year tenure. Known across the global anime community for her soaring vocals on landmark theme songs, she will officially graduate following her final live performance with the band on December 21. Following her departure, remaining members Akashi and Kanasa will transition the group forward under a newly minted name: bless∞(Forever).
A Legacy of Iconic Anime Anthems
Born into the musical Kawamitsu family originating from Phoenix, Arizona, AKINO debuted alongside her brothers Akashi and AIKI, and her sister Kanasa, following their move to Japan in 2003 with the single "Good Morning! Mr.Sunshine." However, it was her blistering solo vocal debut on the legendary mecha series Genesis of Aquarion—composed by the visionary Yōko Kanno—that etched her name into anime history. Her soaring delivery on both the titular opening theme and "Go Tight" became an instant classic among fans worldwide.
Over the ensuing two decades, AKINO and Bless4 contributed their distinctive harmonies and energetic performances to a wide array of beloved franchises. From the interstellar racing of Oban Star-Racers and Kyoto Animation's magical Amagi Brilliant Park to Kantai Collection, Izetta: The Last Witch, and The Ancient Magus' Bride, their musical footprint spans generations of television and gaming. Notably, AKINO also lent her extraordinary voice to tracks for the massive MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.
The Next Chapter for Bless∞(Forever)
This major transition follows previous shifts within the sibling collective, including member AIKI's departure in 2022 to pursue family priorities and solo endeavors. Now, with AKINO stepping out to forge her path as an independent solo artist, Akashi and Kanasa will carry the musical torch as bless∞(Forever). Fans of her staggering vocal range and high-energy performances can look forward to her upcoming solo endeavors while watching the resilient sibling ensemble enter a brand-new era.
