The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yukino Sonoyama's Bless manga has dropped a striking character promotional video, confirming that Kentarō Kumagai will join the ensemble as MM. Scheduled for a January 2027 broadcast, the series will occupy Fuji TV's prestigious Noitamina programming block.
Shōtarō Kitamura, recognized for his work on Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!, is directing the project at A-1 Pictures, supported by assistant director Takayuki Kikuchi. The series composition is managed by Fukurou Kamiza, while Honoka Yokoyama handles dual duties as character designer and chief animation director alongside Tetsuya Kawakami and Reina Iwasaki. Musical composition is handled by Ryō Yoshimata.
Main Cast and Production Scale
The newly unveiled main voice cast brings together notable industry talent to portray the complex fashion-driven narrative:
- Tomohiro Ōno as Aia Udagawa
- Chiyuki Miura as Jun Sumisaki
- Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ginga Yoyogi
- Yoshino Aoyama as Oroka Sumeragi
- Momoka Terasawa as Shitataka Sumeragi
- Kentarō Kumagai as MM
Kodansha USA Publishing licenses the manga in English, highlighting its poignant exploration of personal identity:
They said Aia was destined to be a model, and Jun was bullied for her freckles. Together, they will take back the power to define themselves in an inspirational fashion manga that asks cutting questions about what it really means to be beautiful—and what it takes to overcome an arbitrary system that seems to respect talent over hard work.
Sonoyama initially launched the series in Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge in 2022 before transitioning to Monthly Shonen Sirius. With over 1.25 million copies currently in circulation, the property is simultaneously expanding into a global live-action adaptation slated for Amazon Prime Video in spring 2027.
