BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War has revealed a striking new THE STORIES VISUAL for its final battle sequence, arriving hot on the heels of the broadcast of Episode 49, titled THE BLADE. Studio Pierrot's monumental adaptation returned with its fourth and final cour, subtitled The Calamity, earlier this year before scheduling a brief hiatus for the final two episodes to ensure optimal animation quality.
Running for a total of 10 episodes, the final stretch of the series is building toward a grand conclusion. Following the release of Episode 9, the definitive series finale, Episode 50, is locked in to air on October 26, bringing the legendary Thousand-Year Blood War arc to its culmination.
Legacy and Original Material
Authored by Tite Kubo, the original BLEACH manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 through 2016, spanning 74 volumes and cementing its place among the best-selling manga in history with over 130 million copies in circulation worldwide. The landmark television adaptation originally aired from 2004 to 2012, accompanied by four feature films, before returning in 2022 to adapt the long-awaited final narrative arc.
Creator Tite Kubo has previously confirmed that this concluding part features substantial anime-original sequences and expanded combat material not seen in the printed manga pages, giving returning fans entirely new choreography and story beats to experience as the Soul Reapers face off against the Quincy army.
