As the final confrontation against the Quincy monarch Yhwach nears its broadcast conclusion, the production team behind Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity has officially confirmed the casting for the franchise's next-generation epilogue characters. Published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 44 and verified through the official Tite Kubo & Staff social channels, voice actors Azusa Tachibana and Ayaka Ohashi have joined the cast as Kazui Kurosaki and Ichika Abarai, respectively.
Tachibana previously took on an uncredited Soul Reaper bit part in the eighth episode of the first cour, marking her professional voice acting debut, before securing notable roles such as Shiina Kuze in Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance. Ohashi brings established veteran presence to Ichika, recognized widely for portraying Saaya Yamabuki in BanG Dream! and Jahi in The Daughter of the Demon Lord Is Too Kind.
The Climax Approaches
The adaptation of Tite Kubo's final manga arc began its four-cour run in October 2022 under Studio Pierrot, with the ongoing fourth cour produced under their dedicated high-end imprint, PIERROT FILMS. Following an announcement that shifted the broadcast window for the final two episodes into October to preserve production fidelity, the arrival of Kazui and Ichika signals that the televised finale will faithfully animate the manga's concluding post-war chapters.
The creative leadership steering the final cour features chief director and series composer Tomohisa Taguchi alongside director Hikaru Murata, character designs by veteran animator Masashi Kudo, and an orchestral score by longtime franchise composer Shiro Sagisu.
