The November issue of Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine officially published the final chapter of Hikaru Nakamura's acclaimed dark comedy series Black Night Parade. The creator's official X account confirmed the serialization's end, noting that a special side story alongside a major franchise announcement will accompany the magazine's next issue in December.
First launched in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump in November 2016 before migrating to Ultra Jump in 2019, the narrative follows Hino Miharu, an overworked young man trapped in a dead-end job who accidentally gets recruited by a sinister, coal-clad counterpart to Santa Claus catering exclusively to the naughty list. English-language publisher Seven Seas Entertainment releases the series digitally and in print.
Creator Pedigree and Legacy
Hikaru Nakamura remains a prominent figure in modern manga, celebrated concurrently for long-running creative pillars such as Saint Young Men and Arakawa Under the Bridge, as well as illustrating NisiOisin's Juni Taisen: Zodiac War. The distinctive blend of surreal humor and sharp social observations that defines Black Night Parade also inspired a live-action theatrical film adaptation released across Japan in December 2022.
