The dark fantasy saga Berserk of Gluttony is officially returning to screens. Crunchyroll and the production committee have debuted the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated second season, confirming a 2027 premiere window during a special showcase panel at New York Comic Con. Alongside the Japanese teaser, an English-subtitled version has been released for international audiences.
Animation production continues at A.C.G.T., though there are notable shifts in the creative helm. Tetsuya Yanagisawa, who steered the first season through its 12-episode run in late 2023, transitions to chief director. Meanwhile, Kenichi Ishikura steps into the primary director's seat. They are joined by series composer Mariko Kunisawa and co-character designer Takafumi Furusawa, maintaining a seasoned core staff for the continuation of Fate Graphite's grim journey.
Voice Cast & Production Background
The core voice cast reprises their respective roles for the upcoming arc. Ryota Osaka returns as the skill-devouring protagonist Fate Graphite, alongside Tomokazu Seki as Greed, Hisako Tojo as Roxy Hart, Misato Matsuoka as Myne, Hitomi Sekine as Eris Seifort, and Takehito Koyasu as Aaron.
Based on the dark fantasy light novel series written by Ichika Isshiki and illustrated by fame, the franchise originated as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro before moving to Kakuyomu. Micro Magazine published the printed volumes under their GC Novels imprint, while Seven Seas Entertainment handles the English editions and audiobook adaptations. A manga adaptation by Daisuke Takino has been serialized in Comic Ride since 2018.
Fate Graphite was born into a world where magical skills shape your destiny. His skill is Gluttony, a seemingly useless curse of unending hunger that has left him shunned and looked down upon. Until one day, after he takes the life of a thief, his true power awakens: he can devour the skill of anyone he kills to feed his appetite. Will he learn to control this gruesome ability for the better?
