The journey of our favorite book-obsessed protagonist is far from over. Following the emotional conclusion of the series' latest broadcast, Ascendance of a Bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen) surprised fans with a major production announcement. A brand-new sequel television anime has been officially greenlit, promising to bring Miya Kazuki's sprawling fantasy universe back to television screens.
This upcoming continuation will adapt the much-anticipated fourth part of the original light novel series, bearing the subtitle Kizoku-in no Jishou Tosho Iin (The Royal Academy's Self-Appointed Library Committee Member). Transitioning the narrative into the complex social and magical hierarchy of the noble academy, production duties will be spearheaded by WIT Studio, ensuring a fresh animation pedigree for the next chapter of Myne's adventures.
Originally launched by author Miya Kazuki on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website between 2013 and 2017, the light novel phenomenon features striking character designs and illustrations by You Shiina. TO Books began publishing the print volumes in 2015, capturing the intricate world-building of a modern librarian reincarnated into a medieval fantasy society where books are an exclusive luxury.
While earlier television iterations were helmed by Studio Ajia-Do across three distinct broadcast windows, the transition to WIT Studio marks an exciting evolution for the franchise's visual storytelling. Official broadcast schedules and additional staff announcements are expected to follow in the coming months as production on the fourth arc continues.
