A special collaboration visual has been revealed for two major sci-fi theatrical anime projects, Armored Trooper Votoms: Die Graue Hexe and Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart, both slated to hit Japanese theaters in November 2026. The crossover artwork highlights the heavy mechanical roots and distinct aesthetic directions of these two highly anticipated cinematic releases.
The first part of Armored Trooper Votoms: Die Graue Hexe is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026. Marking a major 50th-anniversary project for Sunrise, this new entry in the iconic mecha franchise is directed by legendary creator Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell), who also penned the script alongside Kei Yamamura. Production is handled by Sunrise with assistance from Production I.G, featuring character designs by Kazuchika Kise and a musical score by Kenji Kawai.
Set near the tail end of a brutal century-long war between Gilgamesh and Balarant, the narrative follows military officer Maki Stauffenberg, portrayed by Mabuki Ando, as she investigates a notorious penal soldier known as Ash Vamps, voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro.
Meanwhile, Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart serves as a direct sequel to the 2014 sci-fi cult hit. Directed by Seiji Mizushima and scripted by Nitroplus veteran Gen Urobuchi, the film shifts animation production to Toei Animation. Hitting screens on November 13, 2026, the feature follows virtual DEVA agents tracking down a mysterious deserter faction on Earth.
The star-studded voice cast for the sequel includes Ayane Sakura as Gabriel, Saori Hayami as Arma, Yoshino Aoyama as Daniel, Sally Amaki as Raguel, Sumire Morohoshi as Penem, and the return of Rie Kugimiya reprising her role as Angela Balzac.
