The official production channels for the television anime adaptation of Aito Aoyagi's comedic mystery novel Akazukin, Tabi no Tochuu de Shitai to Deau. (Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story) have updated global audiences with a cascade of production updates. Scheduled to air across Tokyo MX, BS-NTV, and Yomiuri TV, the project has officially locked in a January 2027 broadcast premiere.
Along with the premiere window, producers unveiled the first official promotional video alongside character art and a sprawling staff roster. Itsurou Kawasaki is spearheading the adaptation, taking on both directorial duties and script composition under the banner of BENTEN Film. Character designs are managed jointly by Manami Minakata and Yuuko Yahiro, establishing a distinctive visual baseline for the quirky narrative.
The newly announced voice cast features Takuya Satou as Jill, Atsushi Tamaru as Antonio, Motoko Kumai as Rodrigo, Koutarou Nishiyama as Paolo, Sakiko Uran as Oyayubi-hime, and Ryouko Shiraishi narrating the unfolding mystery.
Originally launched by Aoyagi under Futabasha in August 2020, the original novel series expanded into a manga adaptation drawn by Kanoka Tana, which ran from January 2023 through May 2025 across Monthly Action and Web Action before concluding with its fourth volume.
