Crunchyroll has officially confirmed that it will stream a same-day English dub for the highly anticipated second season of A Returner's Magic Should Be Special (known in Japan as Kikansha no Mahō wa Tokubetsu Desu), based on Wookjakga's acclaimed Korean webtoon series.
Production and Cast Lineup
The English dub welcomes back its core voice talent ensemble, featuring Austin Tindle as the time-displaced protagonist Desir Herman, alongside Sarah Roach as Romantica, Macy Anne Johnson as Pram, and Anastasia Muñoz as Azest. Behind the scenes, the adaptation and voice direction teams at Crunchyroll have assembled a robust production crew to ensure simultaneous international delivery alongside the Japanese broadcast on Fuji TV's '+Ultra' programming block.
Director Taishi Kawaguchi returns to helm the animation production at studio Arvo Animation, working alongside script supervisor Takamitsu Kouno and character designer Hiromi Katō. Musical accompaniment is handled by composer Kenta Higashiohji, complemented by the opening theme song "Sorrow" performed by rock band FLOW and the ending theme "Everlasting" by singer-songwriter krage.
The Shadow World Chronicles
Originally serialized as a webtoon and published in English by Yen Press, the narrative follows Desir Herman, a skilled magician fighting for survival in a dystopian reality dominated by the catastrophic Shadow World. When humanity faces total annihilation, a second chance at life materializes as Desir awakens thirteen years in the past, tasked with gathering his fallen comrades once more to rewrite history and avert ultimate destruction.
