Idea Factory International has officially announced that Compile Heart’s atmospheric school role-playing game Villion:Code will make its way to Western markets on January 26, 2027. The title is scheduled to launch across a wide array of platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
Alongside the standard digital release, players can look forward to a Digital Deluxe Edition packing both a digital art book and the game's official soundtrack. Physical release collectors will also have options: the PlayStation 5 version will receive physical copies in both North America and Europe, while the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 editions will see physical distribution specifically across North America. The title originally debuted in Japan on June 25 for current and previous-generation hardware.
Narrative Premise and World-Building
Penned against a backdrop of impending global annihilation, Villion:Code transports players to the Advan Resilience Research Academy City—a specialized urban sanctuary founded to discover a remedy for humanity's looming extinction. However, tranquility is shattered when an unexplainable anomaly manifests within the city limits. This event births bizarre hostile entities known as GEM, simultaneously sealing the metropolis inside an impenetrable bubble that severs all external contact.
As isolation sets in and panic gives way to pragmatism, the inhabitants of the academy city are forced to reevaluate their individual roles and confront hard truths while investigating the true nature of the anomaly.
